We believe that understanding how money loses its value is a fundamental right — not a privilege reserved for economists and financial professionals.
Costorix was founded on a straightforward idea: inflation is one of the most consequential economic forces in everyday life, yet clear, unbiased, and genuinely accessible data about it is surprisingly hard to find.
We built Costorix to bridge that gap — an independent, non-commercial platform that aggregates, contextualizes, and explains inflation data from around the world, for anyone with an internet connection.
Our platform serves students, researchers, journalists, educators, policy analysts, and curious citizens alike. We offer no paid services. We carry no advertising. We have no financial stake in the data we present.
We are not affiliated with any government, financial institution, central bank, or commercial entity. Our analysis is not influenced by any third party, and we do not accept compensation for coverage or data presentation.
We source data from authoritative public institutions — the IMF, World Bank, national statistical agencies, and central bank publications — and we cite our sources clearly. Where data is estimated or uncertain, we say so explicitly.
Economic data does not need to be opaque. We translate complex concepts into plain language without sacrificing accuracy, using context, comparisons, and visual tools to make information genuinely usable.
Inflation is not a Western phenomenon. We cover economies from every continent, with particular attention to countries in the Global South where inflationary pressures are often most severe and least reported.
Costorix has never charged for access and never will. Public understanding of economic forces is a public good. We are committed to keeping this platform free and open to all.
Costorix is a focused platform. We cover inflation, price changes, purchasing power, and the monetary policies that governments and central banks use to manage them. We do not offer:
We rely exclusively on publicly available data from internationally recognized institutions. We do not fabricate, estimate without disclosure, or alter original source data.
